Some Kind Of Wonderful 1987 was one of the movies I watched in 1988 when it was shown on the local theaters in Manila. I was in first year college then at an all-girls school. A college friend recommended this movie to us, saying that "it was very touching" So I went to see the movie, I think - together with my "big sister" cousin Ate Edith, at the Quad Cinema in Makati. It sure was fun and romantic! :)
Some Kind Of Wonderful was another movie hit produced by John Hughes. Starred by Eric Stoltz, Mary Stuart-Masterson, Lea Thompson, Craig Sheffer, Elias Koteas ( the punk friend of Watts), Chynna Phillips and even the young Jane Elliot and Candace Cameron were in it!
There were some parts in the movie that I found quite challenging to do, like hanging out with the Class A group and still get better grades. As I watch the movie again, because I am now a parent, I love the father's zest to send his son off to college by encouraging him to save money aside for his college tuition. Quite smart move :)
