Music Monday - Candy Girl 1983 by New Edition

Happy MM, peeps!

Just thinking of some other amusing stuff to take my mind off the summer heat, North Korea and that little scare I got when I was in my moody moment last April 4th when an earthquake occurred. Nothing to worry about, it was just a 5-second one. :)

So here goes.. in 1983 of April 3 the New Edition released their hit single Candy Girl. Have I said here yet that I was a quiet fan of the New Edition, I was also one of 'em who thought they were of the Jacksons. There are a few New Edition songs I really like (now I sound like myself when talking to my sons, I said it before and keep saying again) Lost In Love, Mr. Telephone Man, With You All The Way (love this one!) and Tears On My Pillow.

Enjoy a great start Monday!

CANDY GIRL

My girl's like candy
a candy treat
She knocks me right off of my feet.
She's so fine as can be
I know this girl is meant for me.

(Chorus)
Candy girl
you are my world
You look so sweet
you're my special treat.
Candy girl
all I want to say
When you're with me you brighten up my day

(Verse 1)
All I know when I'm with you
You make me feel so good through and through
The way you walk and the way you talk
You always look so good
You make me forget my thoughts.

Do you really love me? Do you really love me?
Don't you really care? Don't you really care?
Do you really need me? Do you really need me?

(Verse 2)
And will you always be there?
Ev'ry night and ev'ry day I'm always thinking of you in ev'ry way.
All I know when I'm with you
you make me feel so good through and through

(Chorus)
Candy girl
you are my world
You're ev'rything
you're ev'rything
you're ev'rything to me.
Candy girl
all I want to say
I need your love each and everyday day.

Hey fellas ! What? Check out Mike and Bobbie's ladies - Ooh!
And we'll check out Rikki and Ralph! Ooh!
What about Ronnie's? She's bad
she's bad I know she's bad.

She walks so fast
she looks so sweet
She makes my heart actually skip a beat.

My girl's the best and that's no lie
she tells me that I'm her only guy.

That might be true but my girl's a joy
she don't play around
She's right to the point.

My girl's like candy
a candy treat
she knocks me right off of my feet.

Oh Candy
your love's so sweet
oh Candy
my special treat.

CANDY!!
you're my candy
CANDY GIRL!!
Candy
CANDY!!
you're my candy
CANDY GIRL!!
candy

candy girl
you are my world
I need your love each and ev'ry day.
Candy girl
all I want to say
You're ev'rything
you're ev'rything
you're ev'rything to me.
Candy girl
you are my world
I need your love each and ev'ry day. . . .
Candy girl
I need it
need it
need it
need it
need it ev'ry day.

Presenting "A Day In Life" my series of texts from my journals that I kept between the ages of 14 and 17. I'll be adding new entries every now and then to share all my thoughts, ideas, events, experiences, memories, ideas I had during the eighties. It is for my continued amusement that I read and reread my old journals, even when there isn't much content, I still gain occasional insight how I'm still in the process of changing to maturity. Most of the names have been changed to protect the people I recently found on Facebook. A few are just partial entries, my bleeping and blinding exclamations have been removed and some entries have been modified to give way to my now correct spelling and grammar. Yet the mix of excitement, melodrama and pleasant memories from the eighties are still much felt :)I hope, as you read my old journal with me, you enjoy the same sentiments.
