John En Marsha Sa Probinsya 1985

John En Marsha Sa Probinsya is one movie from a series of movie sequels from the 80's comedy sitcom aired from the 70's up to 1990 starred by the comedy king, Dolphy, Nida Blanca, Matutina, Dely Atay-atayan, Rolly Quizon and Maricel Soriano.

In John en Marsha Sa Probinsya '85, John Puruntong (Dolphy) visits his ailing aunt in the country with the Puruntong family. The urban family get into a variety of comic situations living the rural life.

Watching this back then, our family can easily relate to the story  because of our provincial upbringing. The movie was fun in a slapstick comedy way, something that we surely miss nowadays because of Dolphy's demise a year ago. His kind of comedy is a rare find and one well-appreciated by the young and old alike.

Music Monday - We Are The World By USA for Africa

We Are The World by USA for Africa is my favorite version, but of course! The song was written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie and sung by some of the most famous artists in the 80s.

Music Monday - Mr. Mister and Paul Young

A great Monday to all you folks! Just wanted to share this songs that I so miss though I'm not really a great fan. The acoustics and background music simply comfort me. With "Everytime You Go Away", I remember my mom used to joke it's a "scary" song as if you've been scammed by an overnight visitor.. because "everytime you go away, you take a piece of me with you" .. for whatever that meant I think I'm beginning to understand now :) I got to go out again for my massage class, will be back again soon! Happy MM!

Growing Online Dating Relationships

Just like regular real-world relationships, online relationships need tending, to grow over time. Here are some quick growing tips.

1.    Take time and make time. Does your online date get in touch with you regularly? Do you do the same? Neglecting virtual meetings can be considered abuse or neglect, so treat each other’s time with respect. If it’s lacking, might mean time to move on.

2.    Communication needs to “feel” right for both of you. If one of you is too pushy about meeting, for instance, that can give off bad vibes. So don’t rush. Take time to learn more about each other and develop trust.

3.    Respect each others privacy. Don’t share personal email addresses or digital photos online, for example, if your online date sent you the information in confidence.

4.    Share special online and offline fun times. Online – send greeting cards, links to favorite places to upload digital photos of your favorite pet, download music and video clips, post on favorite forums of interest. Offline- if you’re exchanging addresses or post office boxes, send print greeting cards and postcards, small items from your area (like a key chain with your state bird).

Tend your online relationship. Water it with care and over time it can sprout and grow.

80's Movie Meme : To Mama With Love 1983

To Mama With Love 1983 is a most memorable movie I've watched in 1983. It was a Mother's Day themed movie by Regal Films- one movie company in the Philippines that always presents a movie every May. Expect the movie during this time to be starring a powerhouse cast of soap opera teen and child actresses. Movies like these are real tearjerkers, ones that really captivate the heart of the masses and yours truly :)

I've watched this movie again and I am again nostalgic. I remember watching this at our local city's movie theater, mostly 2-3 weeks after it premieres in Manila. How old was I.. maybe 11 years old. I wonder how I got in, being underage and all... oh yes, because I was with my big sister-cousin!

The movie from youtube comes in 9 parts, thanks to youtube uploader thilen20.

You may watch the rest of the movie from there. Don't forget to leave your feedback as a comment here. Get your hankies ready!

Wordless Wednesday - Phoebe Cates 80s Poster Memories

Another Wordless Wednesday blog-hop together with friends enjoying the summer. As for us here in the Philippines, it's been raining everyday and we are enjoying the nippy weather!

This week I'm contributing Phoebe Cates from the 80s posters. Photos of her that we found awesome to collect, and I wonder up to this day why it has been a habit among us teens to collect posters for our walls. Well, just seeing them again online brings back fond memories :)

Presenting "A Day In Life" my series of texts from my journals that I kept between the ages of 14 and 17. I'll be adding new entries every now and then to share all my thoughts, ideas, events, experiences, memories, ideas I had during the eighties. It is for my continued amusement that I read and reread my old journals, even when there isn't much content, I still gain occasional insight how I'm still in the process of changing to maturity. Most of the names have been changed to protect the people I recently found on Facebook. A few are just partial entries, my bleeping and blinding exclamations have been removed and some entries have been modified to give way to my now correct spelling and grammar. Yet the mix of excitement, melodrama and pleasant memories from the eighties are still much felt :)I hope, as you read my old journal with me, you enjoy the same sentiments.
